Anja Austa Mobile Showroom

In front of the gardens i spotted a beautiful model with a sign. The designer, Anja Austa, with full exuberence lead me to her mobile showroom which consisted of a van built out with a rack, her collection, and a chandelier. The collection was a deconstruction of the gilet in grey and black worn over silk calftan's. If you are in the area in front of the gardens, check out her mobile showroom!

Giambattista Valli by Suvi-Elina

Giambattista Valli's show was love at the first sight! From the first look till the last one you could hear people's admiring sighs in the audience.

Collection  was gorgeous and sculptural. From colors black and ivory played the game with touch of  bright yellow and red. I am also happy to annouce the return of the hats! There were plenty of them, big, masculine hats. Costume jewelry was imposing; hearts with skulls... The dresses were super elegant, but not revealing. I especially loved the puffy ivory collars. The black classy trousersuits versus loose voluminous A-line dresses and jackets gave the perfect juxtaposition for the show. Best collection this season I've seen so far.

Below a picture of the designer Giambattista Valli with his Russian model Sasha Pivavora on the backstage. Sasha is showing Giambattista her art works. Aside from modeling Sasha is also is an artist who's travel essentials are her drawing book and  handful of pens. She tells us that she gets inspired from anything that is surrounding her everyday life. Traveling in all the corners of the globe for modeling Sasha takes influences from all the places she's been to and transfers the world she sees into the paper for imaginative drawings.

Chanel by Suvi-Elina

At Chanel it was a cold and frosty winter morning. Spring is about to start and we stepped back to chilly winter...I had this feeling I was back home in Finland :) The stage was an ice skating rink,  roof filled with white clouds and falling little snowflakes.  What a pretty little thing!

The models were not so happy though about the slippery and bumpy catwalk... as if it wasn't difficult enough to make a decent catwalk with the 10cm high heels in super slim skirts...

For the very first time this week that show was on time  and people were still arriving and looking for their seats when  it suddenly started. Some people must have missed the beginning because of that, but 'the early bird cathes the maggot!'

Chanel winter collection is about tweed in boots, pants and jackets... black little dresses and evening wear with chiffon, layers and sequins. There were some interesting color combinations that is not regular for the house: black-turquoise and black-red tweed boots with  the matching jackets and skirts. Collection was very harmonious, in balance.. but definetly not borning! Everytime I am thrilled to see what Karl Lagerfeld has figured out next. I admire his capacity to constantly evolve, and move on, at the same time respecting the image of Coco Chanel and her lifetime work.
